Kelly Gillespie

Kelly Gillespie is a lecturer in the Department of Anthropology at the University of the Witwatersrand, and a co-convenor and co-founder of the Johannesburg Workshop in Theory and Criticism. She completed a PhD from the University of Chicago in 2007, with a dissertation on South African prisons. Her work focusses on the ethnography and philosophy of punishment and on the relationship between criminal and social justice.
