Shalini Randeri

Shalini Randeria studied sociology and Indology at the Universities of Dehli, Oxford and Heidelberg. She received her Ph.D. from the Free University of Berlin, where she taught social anthropology and sociology. She was a fellow of the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin, and now holds the chair of Anthropology at the University of Zurich. Her research interests are in the fields of legal anthropology, anthropological demography and developmental studies. She has also carried out fieldwork in India and has been cooperating actively with grassroots movements in India and development organizations in Germany.
