Julia Hornberger

Julia Hornberger is senior researcher at the Forced Migration Studies Programme, Wits University, and a research fellow of the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Zurich. She completed her PhD thesis in 2007 on Policing and Human Rights in Johannesburg, which will be published as a book in 2010 (Routledge). Her work focuses on issue of violence, justice and policing. Her recent research project is an ethnography of the (international) policing of the trade and consumption of counterfeit medication in Southern Africa.
